Thirteen-year-old Teresa Martinez smiled at Judie Cooper, a Red Cross shelter worker, as she told Judie about her dream of becoming a doctor. Her parents, Enedina and Mauricio, sit by her side.  The Martinez family moved from Florida to North Carolina when they lost their mobile home to Hurricane Andrew in 1992.   In April 2007, their house was again destroyed by a fire.  The Red Cross provided them with food, clothing and financial assistance to help get them back on their feet.

Today the Martinez family was welcomed by Red Cross Shelter Manager Tom Kelleher at West Brunswick High School.
